Cerita Kancil dan Cicak dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Artinya

The Mouse Deer and the Lizard

There was once a mouse deer who lived in the forest. He was very clever and often outwitted the other animals. One day, he met a lizard who was sunbathing on a rock. The lizard greeted him and said, “Hello, mouse deer. You look very happy today. What are you doing?”

The mouse deer smiled and said, “Hello, lizard. I am happy because I have found a lot of delicious fruits in this forest. Do you want to join me?”

The lizard was tempted by the offer and agreed to follow the mouse deer. The mouse deer led him to a big tree that had many ripe fruits hanging from its branches. The mouse deer said, “Look, lizard. These are the fruits that I was talking about. They are very sweet and juicy. You can have as many as you want.”

The lizard thanked him and climbed up the tree to pick some fruits. He ate them and felt very satisfied. He said, “These fruits are indeed very tasty, mouse deer. Thank you for sharing them with me.”

The mouse deer said, “You’re welcome, lizard. But don’t eat too much, or you will get a stomachache.”

The lizard said, “Don’t worry, mouse deer. I know my limit. I will stop when I am full.”

The mouse deer nodded and said, “Okay, lizard. I will leave you here and go to find some more fruits. I will come back later to check on you.”

The lizard said, “Alright, mouse deer. See you later.”

The mouse deer left the lizard and went to another tree. He picked some fruits and ate them. He was very happy and thought, “I have tricked the lizard. He doesn’t know that the fruits on that tree are poisonous. He will soon feel sick and die. Then I will have the whole forest for myself. Hahaha.”

He waited for a while and then returned to the first tree. He expected to see the lizard lying on the ground, dead or dying. But to his surprise, he saw the lizard still on the tree, eating more fruits. The lizard saw him and said, “Hello, mouse deer. I am glad you are back. These fruits are so good that I can’t stop eating them. Do you want some more?”

The mouse deer was shocked and confused. He said, “How can this be? How can you eat those fruits and not get sick? They are poisonous, lizard. I wanted to kill you with them.”

The lizard laughed and said, “Oh, mouse deer. You are so foolish. You don’t know anything about me. I am a lizard, and lizards are immune to poison. We can eat anything and not get harmed. You have wasted your time and effort trying to kill me. You have failed, mouse deer. You have failed.”

The mouse deer realized that he had made a big mistake. He felt ashamed and afraid. He said, “I’m sorry, lizard. I’m sorry for trying to harm you. Please forgive me. Please don’t tell the other animals what I did. Please let me go.”

The lizard said, “No, mouse deer. I will not forgive you. I will not let you go. I will tell the other animals what you did. I will make them punish you for your wickedness. You will pay for your crime, mouse deer. You will pay.”

The lizard then called out to the other animals in the forest. He told them how the mouse deer had tried to kill him with poisonous fruits. He asked them to come and capture the mouse deer. The other animals were angry and outraged. They came and surrounded the mouse deer. They said, “You are a bad mouse deer. You are a traitor and a murderer. You deserve to die.”

They decided to tie the mouse deer to the tree and leave him there to starve. They said, “This is your fate, mouse deer. This is your punishment. You will die here, alone and hungry.”

The mouse deer was terrified and regretted his actions. He said, “Please, please, spare me. Please, please, have mercy. I am sorry, I am sorry. I will never do it again. Please, please, let me live.”

But the other animals did not listen to him. They ignored his pleas and left him there. The mouse deer cried and sobbed. He said, “Oh, what have I done? What have I done? I have been so foolish and greedy. I have brought this upon myself. I have no one to blame but myself.”

He closed his eyes and waited for his death.

Terjemahan

Kancil berkata, “Sama-sama, cicak.

Cicak berkata, “Jangan khawatir, kancil. Aku tahu batas ku.

Cicak berkata, “Baiklah, kancil. Sampai jumpa.”

Tolong biarkan aku pergi.”

Cicak berkata, “Tidak, kancil.
